Harvey Mansfield, professor of Government at Harvard, is one of the nation's foremost Straussian political philosophers. Among his many excellent works is Taming the Prince: The Ambivalence of Modern Executive Power. My review of the book is here. I commend it to you, with the caveat that I understand the audacity of trying to critique the work of a man whose mind is many times greater than mine.
